Hermosillo (quad) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
It has taken Hermosillo a while to recover from the quad injury that landed him on the injured list in early May, but he is ready to resume playing in games. He will have a chance to rejoin the Cubs before August comes to a close.
