Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Back in action Wednesday

Thomas (knee) will start in center field and bat ninth Wednesday against the Padres.

Thomas was a late scratch from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's 1-0 loss to San Diego due to a sore right knee, though he still managed to get into the game as a pinch hitter. He'll return to the starting nine Wednesday and aim to turn things around after starting July by going 3-for-20 with eight strikeouts.
