Diamondbacks' Ryan Buchter: Contract selected by Arizona

Buchter's contract was selected by the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Buchter was unable to break camp with the Diamondbacks this year, but he made nine relief appearances for Triple-A Reno to to begin the season. During that time, he posted a 2.79 ERA and 0.76 WHIP in 9.2 innings. The left-hander should mainly pitch in low-leverage situations in the majors.
