Nationals' Adrian Sanchez: Clears waivers

Sanchez cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Rochester on Thursday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Sanchez was cast off the 40-man roster Monday, but he'll opt to remain in the organization rather than hitting free agency. He made 37 appearances in Rochester earlier this year and slashed .336/.384/.492 with four homers, 19 runs, 18 RBI and two stolen bases.
