Herrmann was tagged with his second loss after giving up a solo home run to the Nationals' Trea Turner in the bottom of the ninth Friday.
Herrmann pitched a clean eighth inning, but manager Pete Mackanin left him in for the ninth -- rather than going with Edubray Ramos, Hector Neris or Jeanmar Gomez -- because of their recent heavy workload. Herrmann has shown a propensity for giving up home runs thus far, having allowed four in seven games since his promotion from the minors.
