Herrmann was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The Phillies optioned Elvis Araujo on Wednesday, clearing a spot on the roster for Herrmann to join the major league squad for the first time this season. The 32-year-old has made 27 appearances at Triple-A, where he holds a 1.72 ERA and 0.96 WHIP across 31.1 innings.
