Pirates' J.B. Shuck: Makes Opening Day roster

Shuck's contract was purchased Thursday, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

With Lonnie Chisenhall (broken finger) opening the year on the IL, Shuck was able to make the team at the last minute. Melky Cabrera appears to be Chisenhall's primary replacement, but Shuck could get an odd start while also serving as a defensive replacement.
