Phillips isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Phillips has started just four games against left-handed pitchers this season, and he'll get a breather with southpaw Nestor Cortes on the mound for the Yankees on Wednesday. Manuel Margot will shift to right field while Harold Ramirez serves as the designated hitter.
