Reds' Jon Moscot: Pushing for rotation spot this spring

Moscot is among the candidates vying for a place in the Reds' rotation this spring, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The Reds have three vacancies in the rotation until Homer Bailey and John Lamb are ready to return from injury, leaving Moscot in a large-field battle for at least a temporary opportunity to start games. Moscot's 2015 season ended in mid-June when he had shoulder surgery, but held his own in nine Triple-A starts last season (3.15 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) before getting touched up in three turns for the Reds (4.63 ERA, 1.37 WHIP). Even he begins the year in the rotation, it's hardly a lock that Moscot will be able to keep the role throughout the season.
