Duffy agreed to a one-year contract with the Royals on Friday, avoiding arbitration.
The 2015 season represented a significant step back for Duffy after his outstanding 2014 campaign, but he found new life late in the year with a move to the bullpen, making six scoreless appearances with a 12:2 K:BB. With Johnny Cueto leaving in free agency and the bullpen already loaded, Duffy may be thrust back into a starting role to begin 2016, though the team has yet to confirm Duffy's role for the start of camp.
