Royals' Kohl Stewart: Inks contract with Royals

Stewart signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Tuesday.

The deal presumably includes an invitation to major-league spring training. Stewart didn't pitch anywhere in 2022 after missing a large portion of 2021 with an elbow injury, although it's unclear whether he wound up having surgery. The right-hander holds a career 4.88 ERA over 21 appearances -- nine starts -- at the big league level.
