Tigers' Jordan Zimmermann: Has nerve block injection

Zimmermann will receive a nerve block injection in Dallas on Wednesday to help treat his recent neck pain, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Zimmermann has already been ruled out for his next scheduled start due to the neck ailment, and it's unclear when he'll rejoin the rotation at this point. He received a similar injection back in November that did well to relieve neck pain that plagued him throughout 2016, so he's hoping Wednesday's injection will provide the same effect. Zimmermann is expected to join the Tigers in Cleveland next week, at which point there will likely be a clearer idea regarding his return date.
