Twins' Blayne Enlow: Requires Tommy John surgery

Enlow (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery, Twins Daily reports.

Enlow struck out a career-high 10 batters in his most recent start against High-A Beloit on May 18, but he threw a bullpen session several days later and displayed decreased velocity. The right-hander was shut down after his bullpen session, and he had further imaging that revealed a torn UCL. Enlow will miss the remainder of the 2021 season after opting to undergo surgery, and he'll likely be out to begin the 2022 campaign.
