Masataka Yoshida DH | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Battling illness
Yoshida is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics due to an illness, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said that a bug has been making its way around the clubhouse, and Yoshida appears to be the latest victim. Though the veteran slugger will remain out of the starting nine for a second straight game, he may have been on the bench anyway as the Red Sox give Wilyer Abreu (calf/shin) a day off from playing defense by keeping his bat in the lineup at designated hitter.

George Springer DH | TOR
Blue Jays' George Springer: Not included in lineup Sunday
Springer (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Springer will miss a second straight start while he tends to a tight left shoulder. The 36-year-old was able to make an appearance off the bench as a pinch runner Saturday, so at this stage it doesn't look like he's at risk of landing on the injured list.

Masataka Yoshida DH | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Sitting against righty
Yoshida is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
After taking a seat against Athletics left-hander Gage Jump in Saturday's 7-3 loss, the left-handed hitter now finds himself on the bench versus righty J.T. Ginn. Yoshida should still be included in the lineup against righties more often than not, and his absence Sunday looks to be the result of right fielder Wilyer Abreu being eased back in as the Red Sox's designated hitter after a sore calf kept him from playing Saturday.

Salvador Perez DH | KC
Royals' Salvador Perez: Getting breather Saturday
Perez is out of the lineup for Saturday's game versus the Cubs.
Perez had been in the lineup for 28 straight games since returning from a brief absence in early July due to an elbow issue. However, he's beginning on the bench Saturday while Josh Rojas gets a turn at DH and Carter Jensen starts behind the plate.

George Springer DH | TOR
Blue Jays' George Springer: Scratched from lineup Saturday
Springer has been removed from Saturday's starting lineup versus Philadelphia due to left shoulder tightness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
According to Zwelling, the issue is one that Springer has been dealing with for "the last couple days." With Springer pulled from the lineup, Jesus Sanchez is moving to DH, and Myles Straw is now starting in left field. Per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, manager John Schneider said Springer is available off the bench Saturday.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Rangers' Joc Pederson: Powers Texas to victory
Pederson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 2-1 win over the Orioles.
Pederson supplied all of the offense Texas needed in this low-scoring victory. After Elias Diaz opened the sixth with a single and Nicky Lopez moved him over on a sacrifice bunt, Pederson jumped on Shane Baz's first pitch, launching a two-run homer to right field and turning a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead. It was Pederson's 21st homer of the season, and the veteran is now batting .252 with an .846 OPS through 351 plate appearances.

Masataka Yoshida DH | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Another multi-hit game
Yoshida went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored during Friday's 13-1 win over the Athletics.
Yoshida extended Boston's lead to 8-0 in the fourth inning with an RBI double before adding to the lead with a sacrifice fly in the sixth. It was the 17th multi-hit game of the season for Yoshida, five of which have come over his last seven games. He's gone 10-for-27 with seven RBI and four extra-base hits in that span.

Moises Ballesteros C | LAA
Angels' Moises Ballesteros: Getting start at catcher Thursday
Ballesteros will start at catcher and bat sixth in Thursday's game versus the Orioles.
Ballesteros' first two starts with the Angels came from the designated-hitter spot, but he'll get a turn behind the plate in Thursday's series finale. It will mark his ninth game at catcher this season, leaving him just one game shy of picking up eligibility at the position in many fantasy leagues.

Yandy Diaz DH | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Receiving day off Wednesday
Diaz is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against Colorado, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
After going 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-7 win in 11 innings, Diaz will get some rest for a Wednesday matinee game. Jonathan Aranda will slot in as the Rays' designated hitter in Diaz's stead and will bat second.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Rangers' Joc Pederson: Idle Wednesday
Pederson is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Giants.
With left-hander Carson Whisenhunt toeing the slab for the Giants, Pederson will sit out Wednesday's series finale. Justin Foscue will replace Pederson as the designated hitter and bat fifth for Texas.
