Knicks' Miles McBride: In protocols, out Saturday

McBride entered the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocol and won't be available for Saturday's matchup with the Celtics, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.

McBride becomes the sixth Knicks player to be placed in the health and safety protocols, leaving the team's backcourt shorthanded. Thanks in large part to the COVID-19-related absences of RJ Barrett and Quentin Grimes, McBride had carved out a sizable rotation role over the past two games, averaging 11.5 points, 5.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in 28.0 minutes. With none of McBride, Barrett, Grimes and Immanuel Quickley expected to play Saturday, the Knicks could have to insert one or both of Wayne Selden and Kemba Walker into the rotation behind projected backcourt starters Derrick Rose (ankle) and Alec Burks.
