Brooklyn General Manager Sean Marks said Friday that it's too early to gauge when Simmons (personal) will make his Nets debut, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports.

Simmons has not played in an NBA game since his horrendous performance in the Sixers' second-round playoff series against the Hawks in June. The 2016 No. 1 overall pick refused to return to Philadelphia this season after he believed his relationships with the front office, coaches and players were frayed beyond repair. However, after being dealt to the Nets ahead of the trade deadline in a blockbuster deal featuring James Harden, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports that Simmons "welcomes a change of scenery and has already had conversations with Kevin Durant." Despite Simmons' excitement, Marks tempered expectations a bit and said the Nets will need to see how he handles a few practices before they put a timeline in place for his eventual debut.
