Devils' Santeri Hatakka: Placed on IR

Hatakka (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, retroactive to Sept. 24.

Hatakka sustained an injury that was worse than day-to-day in late September. The 23-year-old defenseman's placement on IR suggests he'll miss Opening Night versus the Maple Leafs on Thursday, but he is eligible to return whenever he's healthy.
