Andersson's four-game suspension was upheld by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on Tuesday. He had been appealing his punishment for charging Columbus' Patrik Laine (upper body) during Friday's contest.
Andersson doesn't have the option to elevate his appeal to an independent arbitrator because his punishment is under six games. He already served one contest of his suspension while awaiting Bettman's ruling, so Andersson will be eligible to return for Calgary's match against Dallas on Nov. 1. The 26-year-old defenseman has a goal and three points in five contests while averaging 23:39 of ice time this season.
