2017 Preakness Stakes results: Cloud Computing the winner after close finish
Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming faded late and couldn't maintain his lead
Cloud Computing is your 2017 Preakness Stakes winner after coming from the back of the pack to catch Classic Empire on the final leg of the race. Classic Empire (2/1) looked like he held off the field and was going to earn the tough win, but Cloud Computing (12/1) stormed to the front of the pack after sitting back and waiting for his chance to make his move.
Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming was neck and neck with Classic Empire at the start of the race, holding strong early on. The two looked like they were pulling away from the field halfway through the race, but Always Dreaming seemed to run out of gas as they hit the back stretch.
Always Dreaming trainer Todd Pletcher remains winless at the Preakness Stakes.
