Grading the 2015 Players Championship
Everybody gets high marks. I mean, literally everybody. Except you, Tiger.
What ... did we just witness?
Rickie Fowler put an arrow through the heart of the most famous hole in all of golf not once, but three times on Sunday afternoon turned evening at TPC Sawgrass.
Fowler won the ludicrous 2015 Players Championship with six birdies and an eagle over his final 10 holes on Sunday (including three of them on the 17th), eventually beating Kevin Kisner and Sergio Garcia in a playoff.
I promise this is not a pun, but I feel like we're somehow underrating how good this tournament was to watch. I mean, one of the 20 best golfers on the planet finished like this to beat one of the greatest golfers of this entire generation at one of the five biggest golf tournaments in the world.

As for Fowler, he was asked about whether the overrated talk motivated him.
He gave a classy answer.
Asked if he was motivated by "overrated" talk, Fowler smiled, shook his head and replied simply "Doesn't matter." pic.twitter.com/EVBRvdStkZ

Thankfully, he was asked again.
For a golf tournament that looked to be dead in the water halfway through Saturday afternoon, it made quite a leap to become the tournament of the year (so far). I enjoyed every second of it.
Our grades for the Players Championship
Jordan Spieth: F
Spieth was egregious this week at Sawgrass, and he knew it.
“I just have not worked hard enough since the Masters to have my game,” Spieth said. “I sprayed it everywhere this week, and it was unlike me.”
I expect more from the second-best golfer on the planet. The good part? He does, too.
Finish: MC
Rory McIlroy: A
I have secured video of all the putts McIlroy hit this week:
Yep, that was all of them.
McIlroy finished 60th in strokes gained putting this week and was below average in three of his four rounds. This after finishing second in strokes gained tee to green.
He hasn't putted well at all and he keeps banging out those top 10 finishes (and wins). Be wary if he dips his flat stick into whatever Fowler put it in at the turn on Sunday afternoon.
Finish: T-8
Sergio Garcia: A
Garcia is a treasure at this tournament no matter the outcome. That he buried an insane putt on the 17th and gave a "U MAD BRO" look to the crowd made it even better.
"I putted quite good (on Sunday)," he told the Associated Press. "But for the rest of the week, I gave away a lot of shots and still almost won this tournament. So I can't be disappointed."

That wasn't the quote of the week on Garcia, though.
"Sergio is hard on himself,” McIlroy said. “I think you guys have probably experienced that over the past 15 or 20 years covering him. There’s a reason he gets so down on himself. Because he is so talented, and he knows what he can achieve. He knows how good he can be.
“We’re all like that at times. I get frustrated with myself, but I feel like I can just sort of let it go maybe a little easier. Maybe that Latin blood in there sort of gets him a little fired up.”
Finish: T-2
The 17th hole: A
Look, I don't think we need the wall-to-wall election night-level coverage all week, but it showed up in style when it was called on during the final round (and playoff).
Fowler is going to wear a shirt with little photos of this hole like the 1999 Ryder Cup shirts every Sunday for the rest of his career.
Big Cat was incredibly average all week, but he at least thinks things are heading in the right direction. Even if they aren't ... or maybe they are ... or who knows at this point.

• How many times do you think Jim Furyk has independently visited Web.com?
• Does Justin Thomas swing hard or no?
• This is great.
Rickie delivering a win in what is literally the most difficult to win golf tournament in the world is pretty much perfect

If you combined every boring University of Georgia golfer and gave them Patrick Reed's personality, well, that would be something.
Speaking of, my dad texted me on Saturday afternoon, "How does Georgia not win the NCAA Championships every single year?" Good question.
I legitimately thought Kevin Na was going to jump in the lake on No. 17 if his putt fell on Sunday. Heck, maybe he would have.
Garcia took his shoes off to hit a ball off a cart path and it was like the 49th most absurd thing that happened on Sunday afternoon, somehow.
That line Fowler took on No. 18 in the playoff was hysterical. I mean, look at this.
Rickie Fowler absolutely crushed his drive on 18. #QuickHits http://t.co/f7vrEIEoep
