A's SP Sonny Gray dealing with bacterial illness

Athletics starter Sonny Gray was diagnosed with bacterial gastroenteritis, and is still in the hospital. However, the right-hander is said to be feeling better and could be released later on Thursday or Friday, according to the Bay Area News Group.

"It's been a bit of a roller coaster for him," manager Bob Melvin said, per MLB.com. "Just when he started feeling good, then he wouldn't for a period of time. He's been there for a couple days."

It is still unknown if Gray will be able to make his next start on Sunday, as his expected return to the team is currently unknown.
