The Blue Jays have placed center fielder Colby Rasmus on the 15-day DL because of an oblique strain. If his injury is like most oblique maladies, then he'll likely be out beyond the minimum 15 days.
Ramus in 2013 is enjoying one of his best seasons, as he's batting .273/.335/.478 (119 OPS+) with 18 home runs in 112 games. Per Ultimate Zone Rating, Rasmus is also having one of his best defensive campaigns.
To replace Rasmus on the active roster, the Jays have called up 24-year-old outfielder Kevin Pillar.
