At long last, rosters for the upcoming World Baseball Classic have been finalized and announced.

As you'll soon see, the big name on here is Joey Votto. That's no surprise, as CBSSports.com's Scott Miller already reported that Team Canada was holding a spot for him. The question is whether Votto's knee will be in fighting shape by the time the WBC begins.

Now let's jump right in with a look at the other big names who figure to be competing in the main tournament ...

In addition to the teams listed above, Australia, Brazil, China, Cuba, Spain, Japan and South Korea are also part of the main tournament, which begins  play on March 2.

As for the three powerhouses within that latter grouping -- Cubs, Japan and South Korea -- MLB.com notes:

Other participants of note are eight returning players from Japan's 2009 Championship Team, including two Pacific League MVPs, pitcher Toshiya Sugiuchi and outfielder Seiichi Uchikawa, as well as the reigning Central League MVP, catcher Shinnosuke Abe; 11 returning players from Korea's 2009 Finalist squad, including infielder Tae-Kyun Kim and outfielder Hyun-Soo Kim; Cuban stars Frederich Cepeda, Alfredo Despaigne and Yulieski Gourriel ...

Despite all the usual hand-wringing over the timing of the WBC and participation levels among the stars of the game, those are some pretty impressive names above.
