Luke Scott begins rehab assignment

Rays designated hitter Luke Scott (back) started a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham Wednesday night. The DH in the game, Scott, hitting second, went 1 for 4 with a single and a run scored. 

The Rays are hoping Scott can make it back Sept. 1. Scott is batting .249 with nine homers and 39 RBI over 237 at-bats this season.
