Rays second baseman Tim Beckham went 2 for 2 with a solo home run in Tampa Bay's 2-0 win over the Marlins Saturday.
Beckham came on as a pinch hitter in seventh for Allan Dykstra and 10-pitch at-bat before taking pitcher Mike Dunn to deep left center for the home run. He is the first Ray in history to hit his first career home run as a pinch hitter.
"I was happy to get one on the barrel," Beckham said to MLB.com. "The first one I've hit hard this season, and it felt good. I saw a lot of pitches, and he left me one up I could drive, and I had good results."
He also added a single and a stolen base to his totals.
