Orioles starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen dropped his second start in a row Saturday against the Giants, despite a quality start.
Chen allowed three runs on five hits in six innings, as he extended his quality start streak to six games. He struck out just two and walked just one batter in the game, while throwing only 72 pitches.
Chen allowed all three runs in the sixth inning on four hits, two of which went for extra bases. He could have gone deeper in the game, but his spot in the order was up first in the next inning, so he was replaced by a pinch-hitter.
Chen fell to 6-5 in a 3-2 final, while his ERA rose to 3.06. Chen has gone at least six innings in each of his starts since returning from the disabled list, and he will try to keep his solid play up in his next outing, scheduled for Friday against the Rockies at home.
