Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Clobbers homer in win
Noel went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 10-8 win over the Pirates.
Noel helped the Guardians answer a fifth-inning rally from the Pirates. His homer put Cleveland ahead 7-6, and the hosts didn't trail again in the contest. Noel has gone 11-for-34 (.324) with four homers and nine RBI over his last nine games. For the year, he's up to a .262/.333/.611 slash line with 13 homers, 26 RBI, 22 runs scored and five doubles across 45 contests. While he has a 31.2 percent strikeout rate, Noel has proven more than capable of making his contact count.

Noel went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Rangers.
Noel has three homers, six RBI and eight runs scored over his last five contests. The 23-year-old has settled into a starting role in right field, though his strong hitting has certainly helped him stay in the lineup. He's already at 12 homers through 41 major-league games, and he's added a .268/.331/.634 slash line with 23 RBI and 19 runs scored over 124 plate appearances.

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Goes yard in blowout win
Noel went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, a double and two additional runs scored in Saturday's 13-5 win over the Rangers.
Noel's third-inning blast turned the game into a rout. While he's struggled to find consistency, Noel has slugged five homers and added 10 RBI over his last 10 contests, going 11-for-33 (.333) in that span. The 23-year-old is up to a .266/.331/.615 slash line with 11 homers, 22 RBI, 17 runs scored and no stolen bases over his first 40 major-league games. His power is legit, but it's come with a 29.8 percent strikeout rate so far.

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Slugs homer No. 10
Noel went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-1 loss to the Yankees.
The rookie spoiled New York's combined shutout bid when he took Tim Mayza deep in the eighth inning. Noel has seized the starting job in right field, going yard four times in the last eight games while batting .320 (8-for-25). The surge has pushed the 23-year-old's slash line on the season to .257/.321/.594 with 10 homers and 19 RBI in 112 plate appearances.

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Gaining foothold in everyday lineup
Noel will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees.
Noel has largely served as a short-side platoon player since getting a call-up to the Guardians in late June, but after slugging three home runs in two games against the Cubs on Aug. 12 and 13, he's been earning more opportunities against right-handed pitching. He's now started in seven of the last eight games overall, facing off versus five right-handed starters during that span. Unfortunately for Noel, he's gone just 2-for-15 with one extra-base hit (a double) since his home-run binge against the Cubs, but the Guardians still seem content to prioritize him in the regular lineup over David Fry, who was on the bench for each of the last three matchups with righties.

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Homers again Tuesday
Noel went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Cubs.
After homering twice Monday, Noel launched a 430-foot bomb off Drew Smyly with two outs in the sixth inning, putting the Guardians ahead 2-1. The 23-year-old Noel is now 4-for-7 with three long balls in his last two games after going just 2-for-13 in his previous six contests. While he's mostly occupied the short side of a platoon in right field with Will Brennan, Noel's impressive power could earn him a more substantial role down the stretch. He's now slashing .265/.311/.627 with nine homers, 17 RBI and 11 runs scored through his first 90 plate appearances.

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Collects first two-homer game
Noel went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI during Monday's win over the Cubs.
Noel's first homer was a three-run blast off Chicago starter Shota Imanaga in the fourth. He followed that up with a solo dinger off Nate Pearson in the sixth that increased the lead to five. It was the first career multiple home run performance for Noel, who also posted a career-high four RBI during the winning effort. It was a nice performance for the 23-year-old rookie who now has eight homers in his first 80 at-bats in the majors, though he has started just four games since the arrival of Lane Thomas at the trade deadline.

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Heading to bench in Thomas' debut
Noel is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
The right-handed-hitting Noel had started in each of the Guardians' last eight games, but he mostly benefited from Cleveland facing a lefty-heavy slate, as well as Josh Naylor missing out on two starts due to general soreness. During that time, Noel had primarily filled the short side of a platoon in right field with the left-handed-hitting Will Brennan, who was optioned to Triple-A Columbus after the Guardians acquired Lane Thomas on Monday. Thomas will get the start in right field Tuesday, and unlike Brennan, he's expected to play on an everyday basis against both right- and left-handed pitching. As such, Noel's main path to playing time may now come as a backup at first base to Naylor or at designated hitter to David Fry.

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Playing time on upswing
Noel will start in right field and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Tigers.
Noel's playing time has been trending up of late; he'll be making his eighth straight start Monday after slashing .250/.280/.583 with four extra-base hits over the prior seven contests. Though his recent usage would suggest that he's a full-time player for the Guardians, Noel has been the beneficiary of Josh Naylor missing two games due to general soreness, as well as Cleveland having faced a string of left-handed starters. While Noel's start Monday comes with a right-hander (Beau Brieske) opening the game for Detroit, a left-hander (Bryan Sammons) is projected to serve as the Tigers' bulk reliever.
