Tristan Pompey: Let go by Miami
The Marlins released Pompey on June 14.
Miami elected to cut ties with the 25-year-old outfielder after he completed his 50-game suspension, which he was handed in February for a second violation of minor-league baseball's drug policy. Pompey, a 2018 third-round pick, split time between Triple-A Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola in 2021, slashing a collective .195/.314/.262 across 194 plate appearances.

Marlins' Tristan Pompey: Removed for precautionary reasons
Pompey was removed from Thursday's game with High-A Jupiter due to tightness in his leg, Luis Davila of Fish Stripes reports.
Pompey's removal was deemed precautionary; the 22-year-old recently returned from a broken foot, so the Marlins don't want to take any chances. In 10 games with Jupiter this season, the outfielder owns a .250/.341/.278 slash line with a 41.5 percent strikeout rate.

Marlins' Tristan Pompey: Begins rehab in rookie ball
Pompey (foot) began a rehab assignment Monday with the Marlins' rookie-level Gulf Coast League affiliate, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Pompey opened the campaign at High-A Jupiter and batted .154 across eight games before being shut down in mid-April with a fractured foot. His availability for rookie-ball action suggests he's made a full recovery from the injury. Pompey should play a few more games in the Gulf Coast League before taking back a full-time role in the Jupiter outfield.
