Wolves' Ricky Rubio suffers 'significant' ankle sprain
Minnesota point guard Ricky Rubio suffered an ankle sprain on Friday.
Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio sprained his left ankle with less than three minutes to go in the first half against the Orlando Magic on Friday, and he had to be helped to the locker room.
On Saturday, the team announced that it was a "significant" sprain and Rubio will be out indefinitely. CBSSports.com's Ken Berger reported that he'll be in a walking boot for the next two weeks, but could be sidelined for longer.
Source says Ricky Rubio will be in a boot for 2 wks. As @JeffZillgitt reports, worst-case scenario is 7-8 weeks. Depends on how he responds.

This means much more Mo Williams for Minnesota. The backup point guard played 31 minutes against the Magic, and he has been extremely inconsistent so far this season. Williams scored 31 points on 20 shots in the Wolves' first two games, and has scored 12 points on 4-for-22 shooting in the three contests since then.
It should also mean rookie Zach LaVine will get playing time.
