Wagner (calf) is eager for the new season to begin, per Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel.
After sitting out for Germany during FIBA World Cup action over the summer, Wagner appears to have a clean bill of health this fall. Ankle and calf injuries held Wagner to just 34 regular-season appearances last year, but the star forward was highly effective when healthy to the tune of 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 0.9 steals per game.

Wagner (calf) did not participate in Germany's latest FIBA World Cup qualifying window as he focuses on preparing for the 2026-27 NBA season.
Wagner was limited to 34 regular-season appearances for Orlando last season but remained productive when available, averaging 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 30.0 minutes per game. The 25-year-old remains one of the centerpieces of the Magic's offense and should continue handling a significant scoring and playmaking workload alongside Paolo Banchero. Magic's Franz Wagner: Won't play in Game 7
Wagner (calf) has been ruled out for Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs Sunday against the Pistons, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Wagner will end up missing the final three games of the series while tending to a right calf strain. Even if the Magic were to emerge victorious and move onto the semifinals, there's no guarantee that Wagner would be available for the start of that series. Anthony Black and Jamal Cain will continue to work in extended roles in Wagner's absence.

Wagner (calf) is out for Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs Friday against the Pistons.
The Magic at least left the door open for Wagner to play through a right calf strain in Game 5, but Orlando is quickly ruling out the star forward a day in advance of a critical Game 6. Jamal Cain drew the spot start in Wednesday's loss to Detroit, while Anthony Black logged 39 minutes, his most of the series, in Game 5.
