Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 77.2 (Chance to start)
Pro Comparison: Jordan Lucas
Strengths:
Big-time talent as a man cornerback. Decently savvy/aware in zone, too. Patient in press and trusts his quicks and long speed to not get overanxious in tight at the outset of the snap. Mirrors outstandingly and finds the football with good regularity. Plays to every bit of his high-caliber workouts during the pre-draft process. Suddenness stands out. Good recovery speed.
Weaknesses:
Only had three interceptions in his five-year career. Sometimes gets a tick lost down the field as the ball is arriving, leading to penalties. Missed tackles appear on film at times. Arms are a touch short for a perimeter corner.
Accolades:
- 2021: All-Big Ten honorable mention
- Career: Three pass TDs allowed on 1,213 coverage snaps since 2017
