Draft Scouting Report:

Rating: 69.73 (Role player)

Pro Comparison: Dax Milne

Strengths:

Older prospect with a fascinating style. Change of pace based. Good height Much more of a route salesman than an twitchy type. Uses basketball jukes/footwork at the line in hopes of getting a clean release and his routes are littered with head fakes, shoulder dips etc. Natural hands and a large catch radius aligned with how tall he is. If a team can look past his athletic limitations, this is a uniquely nuanced receiver who can play on the perimeter.

Weaknesses:

Hard to tell if he's truly not explosive or he uses different speeds to generate separation. Has a lanky frame that's susceptible to physicality at the line and throughout the route. Not a leaper/contested-catch monster and only glimmers of YAC juice.

Accolades:

  • 2021: Led Big 12 in rec yards (1,046), ranked second in rec (80) and T-second in rec TD (10)
  • 2020: Second-team All-Big 12
