Draft Scouting Report:

Rating: 77.09 (Chance to start)

Pro Comparison: Colton McKivitz

Strengths:

Big, long former tackle who played guard in his final collegiate season. Quick-twitch part of his game shows at the snap. Very effective getting a down block then advancing to the second level and finding linebackers. Can anchor because he is rather large. Should be valued because of his legitimate versatility.

Weaknesses:

Kind of a tweener. Not bulky and compact enough to thrive inside and doesn't play with enough balance and explosion to consistently succeed at tackle. Overall a little too much of a lunger, and his grip strength is lacking. Opens the gate too early, loses his edge in grappling situations, can get off-balance, too. Needs to get much stronger and play with better balance to accentuate his clear natural talent at the next level.

Accolades:

  • 2021: AP All-America second team
  • 2021: Moved to guard after playing three seasons at left tackle
