Broncos wide receiver Bennie Fowler caught the first passes of his NFL career Sunday against Detroit, reeling in all four of his targets for 50 yards.
An undrafted second-year man out of Michigan State, Fowler spent last season on Denver's practice squad, but made the team out of camp this year. He went unused in the first two weeks, but finished behind only Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in Week 3 wideout targets.
With Cody Latimer, Jordan Norwood and Andre Caldwell not much more than depth options, it could be that Fowler's working his way toward securing the No. 3 spot in the Denver wideout mix.
