Saints' Drew Brees: Hurt shoulder affected 'a few' deep throws
Brees and the Saints offense have struggled so far in 2015.
Through two games, the New Orleans Saints offense does not look anything like the machine it has been throughout Drew Brees' tenure there. The Saints have scored just 19 points in each game while Brees has thrown only two touchdown passes.
In New Orleans' 26-19 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Brees was hit in the arm early on, and he admitted after the game that the hit affected him the rest of the way, particularly on some deep throws.
Did getting hit on arm in first quarter affect him? Drew Brees: "Maybe on a few throws....A few downfield didn't come out very well."

Drew Brees being very circumspect on any injury questions. Asked if his shoulder was most affected by hit, "Yeah, probably."

Drew Brees said he never considered coming out of game. "No, no, absolutely not."

Brees suffered a devastating shoulder injury earlier in his career with the San Diego Chargers, which is how he wound up coming to the Saints in the first place. His comeback from that injury is the "most remarkable" Dr. James Andrews said he has ever treated, as he went on to become one of the best quarterbacks of his era. Based on his comments after Sunday's game, it doesn't appear this current injury is anywhere close to as serious, but it's something to keep an eye on.
