  • Kelechi Osemele: Works out for Raiders

Osemele (both knees) worked out for the Raiders on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Osemele was let go by the Chiefs in 2020 after he tore tendons in both knees two campaigns ago. His recent workout with Las Vegas suggests he's recovered from the injuries, and the veteran offensive lineman will now wait for another shot to play in an NFL game.

  • Chiefs' Kelechi Osemele: Officially placed on IR

The Chiefs placed Osemele (both knees) on injured reserve Saturday.

Osemele tore tendons in both of his knees during a Week 5 loss to the Raiders, and he's expected to be out for the season. Mike Remmers is in line to handle the starting left guard duties moving forward. Osemele will be a free agent in March.

  • Chiefs' Kelechi Osemele: Injures both knees Sunday

Coach Andy Reid said that Osemele tore tendons in both of his knees during Sunday's loss to the Raiders, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.

Osemele was carted off the field in the first half, and it appears the veteran lineman's season is over. Mike Remmers replaced him at left guard for the remainder of Sunday's game and could handle that role moving forward. Osemele is expected to land on IR in the near future.

  • Chiefs' Kelechi Osemele: Carted off Sunday

Osemele (knee) left Sunday's game against the Raiders on a cart, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

This is rough news for the veteran, as it's certainly a bad sign to see the cart come out, especially so early in the game. Mike Remmers is expected to take over at left guard as long as Osemele is sidelined.

  • Chiefs' Kelechi Osemele: Absent from injury report

Osemele (neck) is not listed on Monday's injury report.

Osemele was listed as dealing with neck stiffness last week, but he's already managed to put the injury behind him. He's expected to draw the start at left guard during Thursday's regular-season opener against the Texans.

  • Chiefs' Kelechi Osemele: Neck stiffness

Osemele did not practice Tuesday due to a stiff neck, Kansas City Star Chiefs beat reporter Sam McDowell reports.

Osemele should be considered day-to-day until further information about his injury is disclosed. In the wake of Laurent Duvernay-Tardif deciding to opt out of the 2020 campaign, Osemele looks primed to slot into a starting guard role for the Chiefs.

  • Chiefs' Kelechi Osemele: Heading to KC

Osemele (shoulder) signed a one-year deal worth up to $2 million deal with the Chiefs on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The 31-year-old appeared in only three games with the Jets last season while dealing with a shoulder injury, and he was released in October about a disagreement whether surgery was necessary. He went under the knife in October and should be healthy for the 2020 season. Osemele helps fill the significant hole at offensive guard with Laurent Duvernay-Tardif choosing to opt out of the 2020 season.
