Andrew Jelks: Calls it a career
The Patriots placed Jelks on the reserve/retired list Friday, Doug Kyed of NESN.com reports.
Jelks was picked up by the Patriots as an undrafted rookie last season, but he never saw the field as he continued to try and recover from a pair of torn ACL's from his college days at Vanderbilt. He hasn't played since 2014, although he'd been working with the Patriots' second-team offensive line during spring workouts. His retirement shouldn't impact New England's depth at offensive line this season.

Patriots' Andrew Jelks: Working with backups
Jelks worked with the second-team offense during spring workouts, Andy Hart of the Patriots' official site reports.
There's no mention of Jelks still being limited with the knee injury that plagued his 2017 season. However, the fact he was working with the second-team offense -- given the rash of injuries New England has at offensive line -- doesn't bode well for his chances of making the team this summer.

Patriots' Andrew Jelks: Opens camp on NFI list
Jelks is dealing with a knee issue and will open training camp on the Patriots' Non-Football Injury list, Phil Perry of CSN New England reports.
Jelks dealt with knee injuries that kept him off the field for parts of both of his final two seasons at Vanderbilt. The offensive tackle's health issues will only further hurt his case for winning a roster spot.
