Special teams coordinator Dave Toub said Tuesday that Winchester (shoulder) will be held out of practice this week and should be ready for the Chiefs' regular-season opener against the Ravens, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Winchester suffered an AC sprain in his shoulder in Saturday's preseason game against the Lions. Toub appeared optimistic Tuesday that the rest will be enough for Winchester to be ready for the regular-season opener. The Chiefs signed Randen Plattner on Monday to handle special-teams snaps in case Winchester is sidelined for longer than anticipated.

Tight end Noah Gray is stepping in at the long-snapper position in place of Winchester.
