Chris Thorburn: Calls it quits
Thorburn announced his retirement Monday.
Thorburn played 14 years in the NHL, in which he logged 801 games for Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Winnipeg and St. Louis. Over the course of his career, the winger racked up 53 goals, 81 assists and 691 shots, along with 968 PIM. The veteran only appeared in four postseason contests with Winnipeg during the 2014-15 campaign but still got the opportunity to lift Lord Stanley's Cup last year when the Blues clinched their victory.

Blues' Chris Thorburn: Back with parent club
Thorburn was recalled from AHL San Antonio on Friday, Chris Pinkert of the Blues' official site reports.
Thorburn was waived by the Blues on Oct. 1, then spent almost all of the 2018-19 campaign with AHL San Antonio. The Ontario native logged seven points through 40 games in the minors this season and looks to stay on the team throughout their postseason run.

It's been a busy October for Thorburn, as he has already been waived, recalled, and now sent back down to the minors by the Blues. Based on this, the veteran forward could see himself yo-yoing back and forth this season as the team sees fit.

Blues' Chris Thorburn: Pots first goal of campaign
Thorburn scored the game-tying goal in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Golden Knights.
This was Thorburn's first goal in 82 games, and it couldn't have come at a better time, as it led the Blues into overtime and helped them gain a valuable point despite the loss. Scoring isn't Thorburn's strong suit, but Blues fans should be ecstatic to see their enforcer contribute outside of hits and fights.

St. Louis acquired Nikita Soshnikov (lower body) from the Maple Leafs on Feb. 15, and he's since been activated from injured reserve. As a result, Thorburn has been deemed expendable. After all, the depth winger only has four assists representing his point total through 33 games at hockey's highest level this season. It's safe to pass over him in the fantasy realm.

Blues' Chris Thorburn: Signs with St. Louis
Thorburn signed a two-year contract with the Blues on Saturday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The Blues make Thorburn's third team in 10 days. The Jets struck a deal with the expansion Golden Knights, ensuring that Vegas would select Thorburn and not unprotected defenseman Toby Enstrom. When Thorburn's three-year contract expired Friday, he became a free agent and the Blues pounced. In Thorburn, they get a slightly cheaper version of Ryan Reaves, who the Blues traded to the Penguins a week ago. Thorburn should fit nicely on the right wing of the fourth line, serving a role as the the team's energy-enforcer.

Golden Knights' Chris Thorburn: Selected by Vegas
Thorburn has been selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
In addition to selecting Thorburn, Vegas and Winnipeg are expected to flop picks in Friday's entry draft, although the details of that have yet to be announced. Thorburn is a serviceable role player, but he's limited offensively and brings little to the table other than toughness. The big get here for the Golden Knights will be the improved pick in the forthcoming deal.
