Zherenko put up a huge effort to secure his fourth win of the season. He's at a 3.10 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 14 outings, his best numbers in three years. Still, the 24-year-old is unlikely to see NHL time unless one of Jordan Binnington or Joel Hofer gets hurt.

Zherenko posted a 12-14-1 record with a 3.49 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 29 AHL contests during the 2023-24 regular season. He will likely spend most, if not all, of 2024-25 in the minors.

Zherenko has yet to play a regular-season NHL game. The 23-year-old was 12-24-1 with a 3.49 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 29 regular-season games with AHL Springfield in 2023-24. Joel Hofer is expected to play the third period against the Blackhawks on Saturday.
