  • Islanders' Max Shabanov: Three-point effort Thursday

Shabanov scored two goals and added an assist in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Red Wings. The Islanders' fourth line carried the scoring load, as Shabanov, Calum Ritchie and Casey Cizikas combined for three goals and seven points on the night. It was Shabanov's first multi-point performance in nine NHL games, and the 25-year-old rookie has three goals and six points to kick off his first season on Long Island.

  • Islanders' Max Shabanov: Ready to rock

Shabanov (upper body) will return to the lineup against Colorado on Sunday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Shabanov will skate on the fourth line and work on the second power-play unit after missing the last 12 games. He has one goal, three points, eight shots on net and five hits through six appearances this season. Shabanov will replace Maxim Tsyplakov in Sunday's lineup versus the Avalanche.

  • Islanders' Max Shabanov: Joining trip out west

Shabanov (upper body) is not with the Islanders for Monday's road game versus the Devils but will join the team ahead of a trip to Vegas on Thursday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports. Shabanov is far from a lock to play Thursday and could just be traveling with the team in order to start practicing. Prior to his nine-game absence, the 25-year-old winger was starting to find his groove with assists in back-to-back contests.

  • Islanders' Maxim Shabanov: Not traveling with Isles

Shabanov (upper body) has yet to resume skating and will miss New York's three-game road trip, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports Monday. Shabanov has already missed two games due to his upper-body issue and now will be out of action for at least three more. Prior to his absence, the 25-year-old winger was stuck in a five-game goal drought during which he recorded two helpers, seven shots and five hits while averaging 12:06 of ice time. Once cleared to return, Shabanov should be capable of securing a middle-six role the rest of the way.

  • Islanders' Maxim Shabanov: Not playing Thursday

Shabanov (upper body) has been ruled out of Thursday's tilt versus Detroit, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports. Shabanov missed practice Wednesday. He has one goal and two assists in six contests this season. Shabanov came over this season from the KHL, where he had 23 goals and 67 points in 65 games with Chelyabinsk in 2024-25. Look for Kyle MacLean to enter the lineup in place of Shabanov on Thursday.
