Alejo Lopez: Cut loose by Atlanta

Atlanta released Lopez on Monday.

Signed to a minor-league deal last fall, Lopez received an invitation to big-league spring training with Atlanta but failed to crack the Opening Day roster. He didn't receive a call-up to the majors at any point in 2024 and will now hit free agency in search of a new home heading into 2025. Over his 473 plate appearances with Gwinnett this season, the 28-year-old Lopez slashed .307/.392/.397 with four home runs and 21 stolen bases.
