Braves' Micah Johnson: Slated for wrist surgery

Johnson will undergo surgery Friday to repair a fractured wrist.

Johnson injured his wrist Tuesday, and although his initial X-rays came back clean, it seems that a much bigger issue was present than initially thought. He was in the running for a bench spot with Atlanta, but now he'll need to start the season on the disabled list and likely will cede that final reserve role to Emilio Bonifacio. A firmer timetable for Johnson's return should come out after he goes through with the operation.
