Carlos Tocci: Released by Washington

Tocci was released by the Nationals on Tuesday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Tocci made his big-league debut as a 22-year-old back in 2018 well ahead of schedule after being selected in the Rule 5 draft by the Rangers. He struggled to a 42 wRC+ in limited action that season and has done nothing since then to suggest he deserves another chance at the highest level. In 50 games across the two highest levels of the minors this season, he hit just .200/.273/.258.
