Diamondbacks' Pavin Smith: Optioned to Reno

Smith was optioned to Triple-A Reno by the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Smith was sidelined for a large portion of the Cactus League due to back spasms, and it's possible that played a factor in the demotion. The 2017 first-round pick registered a .778 OPS in 27 plate appearances before being sent down. Smith will likely be an up-and-down option for Arizona in the 2023 campaign.
