McCarty won't start Saturday's game against the Yankees, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
The 26-year-old was announced as Saturday's probable starter earlier this week after Cal Quantrill (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 list, but Quantrill is now expected to be available to pitch. McCarty had his contract selected Wednesday and was poised to make his big-league debut, but it appears he'll now need to wait for his first start.
