The Nationals reassigned Sanchez to minor-league camp Monday, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Though he's been a member of the organization since signing with the Nationals as a teenager out of Venezuela in 2007, the now-31-year-old Sanchez has just 204 plate appearances at the MLB level to his name. After having now been outrighted off the 40-man roster on two occasions since 2020, Sanchez looks to be little more than organizational infield depth at this stage of his career. He'll likely report to Triple-A Syracuse when the minor-league season opens in April.
