Nationals' Donovan Casey: Sent down Wednesday

Casey was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.

Casey spent just under a week with the major-league club but didn't appear in any games for the Nationals. He'll head back to Rochester, where he hit .250 with a home run, two triples, two doubles, six RBI and four runs in six appearances to begin the season.
