Padres' Kyle McGrath: Removed from 40-man roster

The Padres designated McGrath for assignment Sunday, MLB.com reports.

The transaction removes McGrath from the Padres' 40-man roster and could foreshadow an addition that may be announced Monday. Prior to being optioned to Triple-A El Paso in mid-April, McGrath made four appearances for the big club, surrendering two runs over four innings.
