Ross and the Padres agreed to terms on a one-year, $9.7 million deal Friday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.

Ross was unable to replicate his stellar 2014 numbers - 2.81 ERA, 1.211 WHIP - but he still enjoyed a strong campaign, winning 10 games and posting a 3.26 ERA across 196.0 innings. Ross led the league in games started (33), though he also struggled with control, issuing a league-high 84 walks and tossing 14 wild pitches, also a league-high.
